The House That Tweets

July 23, 2009

So apparently Twitter may actually be more useful than I thought.  Andy Stanford-Clarke, who owns a 16th century thatched cottage in the Isle of Wight has hooked his house up to twitter!

It tweets about anything and everything, from a mouse being caught in the kitchen, to how much electricity or water is being used.  It also tweets when a window or door is opened or a light turns on.  I can see all of the many, many useful applications for this already, security, energy conservation and pretty much anything else you can think of.  Very interesting stuff.  Here is a link to the BBC article.
