Originally it was thought that the Red Hill Expressway would be shut down for up to 48 hours.

It now looks like the Red Hill (as well as the QEW) should be ready to be opened in time for morning traffic on Monday July 27th .  I really hope it is open otherwise traffic going to work in the morning is going to be a pain.  The following comes from the Hamilton Spectator:

Mayor Fred Eisenberger, whose own home was hit in the severe flooding the plagued the city, said the southbound lanes are expected to open in two to four hours. The northbound lanes will follow in six to eight hours.

Eisengber said there had been some shoulder damage on the roadway and barriers that had shifted. It was initially anticipated the roadway may have had to stay closed for up to 48 hours as a precaution against further rains.
